Is Human Identity increasingly mediated?

Londie Ncube

I think media influences identity but i don't think it necessarily forms who you are as a person. I don't think that i have created my identity based on media ideologies but i think i have developed or altered my identity by consuming media concepts.

Miquita oliver because of her sense of humour and i think her image, the way she dresses is similar to my style. I think the same qualities in terms of how she is casual and quite laid-back. The qualities of hers i reject are probably her slight arrogance sometimes because i don't think that reflects my character but i aspire to have her confidence and self-satisfaction.

I think the media does influence my individuality as there are many media personalities that have an effect on my identity. They have not necessarily formed the person i am but i do think that some elements in my life are taken from the media.

I feel that Selena Gomez is the media personality that i feel represents my character. She is similar to me in ways that we both embrace our youthful characteristics. I aspire to have a similar dress sense to her as it is  something i like.  I reject that she isn't very commited to one profession.
